MIAMI Association of REALTORS®

The MIAMI Association of REALTORS® (MIAMI) and Broward, Palm Beaches & St. Lucie Realtors® (RWorld) have announced a merger that will create the largest local Realtor association in the world, effective May 11, 2026. The new entity, pending approval by the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), will be named Miami and South Florida REALTORS® and will encompass a combined membership of approximately 93,000 real estate professionals. This merger marks a significant consolidation in the real estate sector, integrating MIAMI, the largest local Realtor association in the United States, with RWorld, the third largest.

The merger combines MIAMI's 56,000 members with RWorld's 37,000 members, resulting in a collective membership that exceeds that of 47 state associations and is more than double the size of the next largest local association in the U.S. at 43,000 members. The combined organization will leverage its size and resources to enhance service offerings for its members, providing broader access to data, tools, and educational resources. The leadership of the new organization will be shared between Alfredo Pujol, the current chairman of MIAMI, and Jonathan Dolphus, the president of RWorld, with a commitment to maintaining the cultural values of both organizations.

This merger is strategically positioned to capitalize on the growth of the South Florida real estate market, which has seen significant activity and investment in recent years. The combined association is expected to enhance the competitive edge of its members by streamlining access to multiple listing services (MLS) and expanding educational opportunities. The merger will initially maintain the separate MLS operations of both organizations, with plans to integrate them in the future, creating the third-largest MLS in the nation.

The implications of this merger extend beyond the immediate benefits for members. By consolidating resources and expertise, the new Miami and South Florida REALTORS® will be better equipped to navigate the complexities of a rapidly evolving real estate landscape. The association's enhanced global outreach, supported by over 437 signed international agreements, positions it to attract international buyers and investors, further solidifying South Florida's status as a global real estate powerhouse.

As the real estate sector continues to evolve, this merger illustrates a broader trend of consolidation within the industry. The creation of the Miami and South Florida REALTORS® is expected to set a precedent for future collaborations among Realtor associations, particularly as they seek to enhance operational efficiencies and member services in an increasingly competitive environment. The merger not only reflects the strength of the South Florida market but also signals a commitment to innovation and growth that will benefit both members and the communities they serve.
