Metro Communications Announces Agreement to Acquire Clearwave Fiber’s Southern Illinois Operations

MCC Network Services (Metro Communications) agreed to acquire Clearwave Fiber’s Southern Illinois assets, including the regional fiber network and related backhaul agreements. The network supports backhaul, public safety, education, and residential FTTH across multiple communities. The combined networks will serve over 1,000 on‑net towers and pass more than 250,000 locations in downstate Illinois. Closing is expected in Q1 2026, pending customary approvals.
